About the Role

The Leadership Institute is searching for an organized, detail-oriented, and dependable individual to join the Development team. This person will work closely with the Vice President for Growth and the Chief of Staff to manage donor communication, strategic prioritization, and department scheduling on behalf of the Vice President. This role is a great opportunity for an individual looking to transition into a donor communications or strategy role. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience as Executive Assistant in communications, strong communication and writing skills, and the ability to prioritize Director requests. The role reports to the Chief of Staff. This role is based in the Leadership Institute headquarters in Arlington, VA. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • • Work closely with the Vice President and Chief of Staff as the primary owner of the Vice President's outbound communication, including weekly major donor updates and project communication.

  • • Take notes during meetings between donors and the Vice President and draft follow-up communications, including thank you notes, meeting memos, and donor letters in accordance with organization standards.

  • • Work closely with the Chief of Staff to prepare daily notes, news briefings, agendas, and research items for the Vice President.

  • • Meet with the Vice President regularly to discuss requests, review the daily agenda, and troubleshoot any potential scheduling conflicts to make sure important engagements are included.

  • • Manage the schedules of the Vice President and office staff including meetings, events, conferences, travel planning, interviews, and appearances.

  • • Review all incoming meeting requests, invitations, etc. via phone, mail and email and collect any necessary background information to effectively relay requests to the Vice President and Chief of Staff.

  • • Conduct research on donors and other areas needed.
