NumbersUSA is a national, non-partisan nonprofit founded in 1996. We work to lower overall immigration levels in the national interest, grounded in the recommendations of the bipartisan U.S. Commission on Immigration Reform, chaired by Barbara Jordan. We’re hiring a Communications Director.
This is a media relations role at its core. You’ll pitch our spokespersons and content to national, regional, and policy reporters. You’ll build relationships with journalists covering immigration and Congress, and manage interviews and rapid response. You’ll also build the systems behind it all: media lists, calendars, monitoring, and reporting. This is a one-person shop working directly with our Co-President.
We’re looking for a proven record of earned media placements, sharp news judgment, and the ability to write convincingly in an established voice. Earlier-career candidates with strong placement results are encouraged to apply.
To apply: Email your résumé, cover letter, and two writing samples to anne@numbersusa.org with the subject line “Communications Director – [Your Name].” Please note where you saw this posting. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
