The Advanced School of Politics at the Leadership Institute offers practical, comprehensive political education for current and future conservative leaders. The school offers multi-day programs focused on campaign management, campaign strategy, communications, fundraising, candidate development, and nonprofit operations.

Courses are taught by experienced practitioners and designed for campaign leaders, candidates, campaign managers, fundraising professionals, nonprofit executives, and organizational leaders. Each program emphasizes real-world application, practical skills, and meaningful networking with established professionals.

Located in Arlington, Virginia, the school is easily accessible by Metro and conveniently located near Reagan National Airport, making it accessible for both local and traveling participants.

Role Description

The Leadership Institute is seeking a full-time, on-site Recruitment Ambassador to join the Advanced School of Politics in Arlington, Virginia.

The Recruitment Ambassador will proactively identify, engage, and recruit prospective participants for the school’s programs. This role will build and maintain a strong pipeline of motivated, qualified attendees and clearly communicate the value of the Advanced School of Politics’ training opportunities.

Daily responsibilities include outreach via phone (yes, phone), email, social media, and in-person events; scheduling and conducting informational interviews; and representing the school at conferences, career fairs, partner meetings, and other recruitment opportunities. The Recruitment Ambassador will also collaborate closely with program staff to understand course offerings, enrollment goals, and participant needs.

This role requires strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with digital tools to support recruitment efforts. The Recruitment Ambassador will maintain accurate records in the CRM system, track recruitment metrics, assist with participant onboarding, support occasional orientations or training sessions, and provide timely communication to ensure a positive experience for applicants and participants.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an organized, persuasive communicator who enjoys meeting new people, building relationships, and helping participants identify the right training opportunity.

Qualified candidates should have:

  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain program benefits, requirements, and opportunities to prospective participants.

  • Experience with social media platforms for outreach, promotion, or engagement, including LinkedIn, Facebook, X, TikTok, and YouTube.

  • Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools for creating professional graphics, flyers, social media posts, and recruitment materials.

  • Ability to use AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity, draft communications, conduct basic research, organize information, and support content creation.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple recruitment funnels, deadlines, contacts, events, and follow-ups.

  • Experience in political campaigns, political training programs, grassroots organizing, nonprofit organizations, or public policy environments.

  • Recruiting, outreach, or relationship-building skills to identify, attract, and engage qualified prospective participants.

  • Interviewing skills for conducting effective informational interviews, assessing participant fit, and guiding applicants through the enrollment process.

  • Experience with CRM systems, applicant tracking systems, spreadsheets, databases, or similar tools for managing contacts and recruitment activity.

  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, program staff, external partners, and participants.

  • Professional judgment and poise when representing the Leadership Institute at events, conferences, career fairs, and partner-organization meetings.

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, political science, business, education, public policy, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in political campaigns, conservative organizations, recruitment, admissions, training programs, digital communications, or nonprofit outreach is preferred.
