About the job

The Jay Henges Center for Youth Leadership delivers the Leadership Institute’s most influential trainings for rising young conservatives—including the Youth Leadership School (YLS), Youth Leadership Workshops (YLW), and Campus Election Workshops (CEW). These programs shape future leaders through high-quality instruction, practical campaign training, and compelling communication.

We’re looking for a skilled communicator, dynamic trainer, and confident public speaker to help design, refine, and deliver LI’s premier training content. This is an ideal role for someone who thrives on teaching others, and brings energy and clarity to every presentation.

Your job:

  • Present lectures, workshops, and small-group training sessions on political technology, leadership development, and campaign strategy.

  • Create, update, and refine training materials—including slides, scripts, worksheets, and instructional guides.

  • Assist in curriculum development to ensure all content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with LI’s mission and standards.

  • Deliver high-impact presentations at programs nationwide as part of LI’s training team.

  • Coach students on communication, messaging, persuasion, and leadership skills.

  • Collaborate with program managers and event staff to ensure seamless training delivery.

  • Support recruitment efforts by communicating program value, connecting with students, and representing LI at events and conferences.

  • Travel up to 50% to teach, train, and support LI programs across the country.

Top candidates will have:

  • Strong public speaking skills and a passion for teaching or presenting.

  • Experience in communication, training, coaching, or speaking roles.

  • Excellent writing and messaging abilities, with a clear, persuasive communication style.

  • Ability to simplify complex political or technical concepts for diverse audiences.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple training projects at once.

  • Background in student leadership, political campaigns, or youth programs.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; familiarity with the Youth Leadership School or LI programs is a plus.

  • Ability to travel frequently and work nontraditional hours (including some weekends).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience designing curriculum, slide decks, or instructional content.

  • Previous speaking roles at conferences, workshops, student programs, or campaign trainings.

  • Understanding of conservative principles and a commitment to teaching them effectively.

  • On-camera experience or comfort with video-based training.

Location: Arlington, VA (Not Remote) Travel: Up to 40%
