About the Role The Leadership Institute is hiring Freelance Reporters for its campus news website Campus Reform (campusreform.org). As America’s leading source for conservative college news, Campus Reform serves as a watchdog to our country’s higher education system, with a mission to expose liberal bias and abuse on college campuses. Freelance Reporters are professional journalists who will write longform and investigative articles for Campus Reform using several methods including data-driven research, public records and FOIA requests, and in-depth interviews. This part-time hourly role reports to the Executive Editor. This position is fully remote.
Responsibilities
Write original stories and content for the Campus Reform website
Submit articles and revise drafts on deadline
Cultivate sources in higher education, politics, and the private sector
Conduct research for ongoing internal and collaborative projects

Required Skills
2+ years of professional work experience in media, journalism or communications
Strong writing and communication skills
Proficiency in identifying and producing newsworthy content
Strict adherence to journalism rules and ethics
A strong understanding of conservative politics and Campus Reform’s mission
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Avid consumer of national news
Philosophical alignment with and passion for Leadership Institute/Campus Reform’s mission
