About the RoleThe Leadership Institute is hiring an Assistant Editor for its campus news website Campus Reform (www.campusreform.org).
As America's leading source for conservative college news, Campus Reform serves as a watchdog to our country’s higher education system, with a mission to expose liberal bias and abuse on college campuses.The Assistant Editor will write breaking news and longform investigative articles for the Campus Reform website, provide administrative support to the Editor-in-Chief, and assist the Executive Editor edit and publish Campus Reform articles.This role reports to the Executive Editor.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities
70%: reporting in-depth and investigative journalism, and breaking news coverage
20%: administrative support to the editor-in-chief may include data entry, proofing, and research for internal projects and external communications
10%: Edit and publish Campus Reform articles

Required Skills
2+ years of professional work experience in media, journalism or communications
Strong writing and editing skills
Project management skills
Proficiency in identifying and producing newsworthy content
Strict adherence to journalism rules and ethics
A strong understanding of conservative politics and Campus Reform’s mission
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Avid consumer of national news
Philosophical alignment with and passion for Leadership Institute/Campus Reform’s mission
